In 2005 she took it to the next level and founded her own company, Mary Meyer Clothing. Starting at just a few stores in the Bay Area she found that her customers loved the wearabilty of her shapes combined with a print or piece of appliqué that set her work apart from other designers.

In 2006 MMC moved from Oakland to Brooklyn. Mary has maintained some of the sweeter style of her earlier work while focusing on branching out towards higher concept pieces. Shapes like the Biggie—a giant one size-fits-all piece, printed or solid, that can be styled in an infinite number of ways—became one of her signature looks and retains its place as a standard in her collection season after season. One buyer called the Biggie “the evolution of the T-Shirt.
