Inspired by the recent video by Summer Camp, I was overwhelmingly curious about the background film that was used for the video. Did some searching around and discovered one of the most amazing little young-love stories that probably exists today. Click for the continuation.
En Kärlekshistoria (A Swedish Love Story) is a 1970 Swedish film directed by Roy Andersson that stars two cute little Sweeds named Ann-Sofie Kylin and Rolf Sohlman as two teenagers falling in love. Inspired by the Czechoslovak New Wave, the film was Andersson’s feature film debut.
The film has some pretty amazing scenes too due to the fact that the two main characters are just about as cute as cute gets. I’ve already got a serious crush on Ann-Sofie Kylin. It’s also filled with an awesome look in to 70’s Swedish fashion which of course, was ahead of it’s time. Just check out some of the shots.
It’s a surprisingly mature effort at describing teenage love to those who have never experienced it. Honest, sweet, and beautifully shot this is also a film that captures marvelously the spirit of a country on the verge of a massive economic crisis. Highly recommend it.
