Just stumbled across this great video about a nun / artist / activist from the 50s and 60s. When days of civil unrest was an everyday acknowledgement and war was touching everyones lives, Sister Corita was a 17 year old ready to commit her life to God, in turn expressing her voice through her services and art. Though she wasn’t just known because she wasn’t just known for her “rebelious” nun behavior, it was her screen printing techniques and the creative use of words & color that at the time that really set her apart from the rest of the penguins.
