Steven Alan is no newcomer to the fashion world. After opening his first retail store in 1994, the Steven Alan Showroom followed in 1996, and finally, in 1999, Alan’s first full-fledged collection. He has since accrued a cult following for his heritage-inspired, New York casual styles for men and women, and found a special niche in the fashion world for his smart, self-assured essentials and vintage-inspired worn tailoring.
Spring/Summer 2012 was inspired by the 1960′s, and the collection is based on classic and feminine styles with quality and simplicity in mind. Alan also took influence from the watercolors of Alex Katz, adding to the new refinement of color and print. The result is an easy-feeling, prep-inspired line with a smart sophistication, that feels just as at home in Cape Cod as it does on the streets of Manhattan.
