For some, today was like Christmas for a six year old. It was like that first warm day of spring after a cold winter. What we really mean is that today, No Doubt, the multi-platinum band that created the third wave of ska/pop/rock/and reggae and more chart topping hits than you could ever count, just released their first single since 2001. “Settle Down” is a full-length (6:14) music video directed by Sophie Miller that features the entire band, back in action.
The single will be featured on their sixth studio album, Push and Shove, that is set to release September 25th. After listening to Settle Down for the fifth time, we’ve got to say that we love it. At first you hear east-Indian notes that follow into big band pop, which is then followed by some echoey reggae tones, courtesy of Diplo who produced the track. Enjoy.
Also, in case you didn’t know, Gwen is a babe.
