Nylon Magazine, September 2002. This may be the best Nylon editorial of all time, yep, you read it right, of ALL time. Everything that may have been thought dead after the mid 90’s was given new life in these pages in 2002. There’s baggy jeans, saggy jackets, shaggy bangs…add androgyny, dresses over pants, and pj tops and it’s obvious they perfectly forecasted a coming style resurgence.
People tend to view magazines as throw-away reads, something to amuse you in an airport or a dentist office but little more. Now we love a good book, who doesn’t? But, there’s something about a glossy magazine full of zeitgeist. They’re the cultural pulse presented in an easy-to-carry format, plus, they look good stacked on your coffee table.
