LEGO New York City

Miles/November 15, 2012

Artist JR Schmidt has just done something many of us have probably thought about, but never actually moved off the couch for. By taking a timeless toy icon, in this case LEGO’s, he has created a three-dimensional graphic interpretation of NYC. Let’s make it clear, he didn’t build this out of actual LEGO’s, instead created a 3D version of the toy to craft the image.

The piece was made with the help of satellite and topographic images to help determine depth and elevation. If you’re in love with it, you can purchase many related items with the print directly from the artist.
