Vintage Cooking

Amanda/November 27, 2012

While at a yard sale the other day, I came across a huge selection of vintage cookbooks. The old pictures were stylish and lovely to look at, but the recipes themselves, naturally, were the main attraction. It’s common knowledge that casseroles were king in the ’50s, and fondue was a favorite in the ’70s, but what else did people prepare for dinner parties gone by? As total lovers of all things food, today we thought we dive into some old cookbooks and find out.

Are there any vintage recipes that you love? While the Gingerbread with Orange Sauce sounds perfectly delightful, we’re really looking for an alternative to making the Monterey Soufflé Salad…let us know if you think your grandma has a recipe that we just can’t miss.
