Spring Scarves

Rachel/February 20, 2013

Want in on a little known fact? Scarves aren’t just for keeping your neck warm. In fact, now that winter is on its way out the door, scarves are for accessorizing, for adding a little something extra to your look without adding much weight. Luckily, we’ve got our hands on some of the dreamiest silk and gauzy springtime scarves for wearing anywhere but wrapped tightly under your chin.

We asked the designers behind some of our favorite scarf collections, Emerald Grippa and Jessica Lee of Willow Knows, for some scarf styling advice. Breezy silk scarves are perfect for lightly draping over your shoulders or wrapping over a summer dress for an added thin layer. For a pop of color to any outfit, drape a silk scarf around your neck and tie in the front, or tie in the back bandana-style.

We like to take it a step further. Tie the corners of your scarf together and slip your arms through the holes created to wear it as a light shawl. You can also braid or twist a few of your favorites together to make the most awesome chunky necklace.

Our favorite way to accessorize with scarves is by wearing them in your hair or wrapped on your head. Get creative, and don’t be afraid to sport some color above the neck.
