A creative outlet, what a joy to have. Brooklyn’s Line Journal which is run by our friends Lanya and Lauren have created the Journal – an online publication giving you the latest in fashion, trends, culture and beauty. Tony from RVA Magazine invited me out to come through the weekly Tuesday night party, RVALUTION, so Patty Sweet Face and I went to check it out. Honestly, I haven’t been out that late on a Tuesday night since Broken Beat Lounge at Richie’s, so I had to motivate a little bit. “Party” can’t describe what goes on every week at The Hat Factory. It’s a part-carni/Buzz/frat party/Barnum & Bailey/sex convention/birthday party/Spring Break/candy raver/Anime/burlesque blowout that Richmond promoters have been striving for for years. Well,  it’s finally come to fruition.  Residents DJs JReinhold (PLF) and Doddie (Audio Ammo) killed it along with DJ vs. Wild (Audio Ammo) and Cobra Krames (Cobra Kai NYC). Be sure to roll up mad early, cause we got there at 10:30 PM and the line went from the Hat Factory to Cary St.! It’ll be worth the wait!

Some various snapshots from a beautiful weekend in Richmond.

First off, I’m a male, not a female. However, if I were a female and were looking for that perfect pant for bike rides, cooler nights, and overall “go-with-anything” pant for the summer, these are definitely what I’d pick. The Houligan Cargo pants by J Brand.

They are cut right above the ankle, awesome for jumping rocks along the river, high-kicking boys and riding your bike through a breezy neighborhood. They have awesome, low-profile cargo pockets, thus you don’t have to carry a damn purse around with you everywhere with all your shit inside. Keys, wallet, condom and cell  phone can all go in the pockets, leaving you with a hands-free summer. And the fit looks awesome. You can get them here.

Our Friends at YouWorkForThem released a new font, Burocrata, and featured our photography in the nicely designed PDF accompanying it.

Overview reads: “Burocrata is a geometric sans- serif typeface suitable for display / headline purposes. It was influenced by the early mid-century geometric style imposed by Herb Lubalin.”

On our last buying trip to LA we decided that we should get out and do some shopping for ourselves. We struck up conversation with a guy named Brandon in a cute store where we were trying on some really sweet clothes…Turns out he was the rep for a line called As Is – and  ALL the clothes we’d picked to try on were from his line.  He took us into the back room, where we got to meet the designer (a super cool girl from Japan) and check out the collection.

We discovered WHERE during our last trip to the UK. Besides the amazing design, the companies ethics and fundamentals as a whole are what really attracted us to them. The pieces are hand made from very small producers and artisan communities around the globe. Everyone involved in the entire process of each piece receives a fair wage and is treated with the upmost respect, the way things should be. Designer Laura Villasenin is responsible for the footwear’s unique look.
