To paraphrase Albert Einstein: “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination and a good shirt will take you everywhere.” So say Schnaydermans, the Stockholm based designers of classic men’s shirts. Schnaydermans began in an old grocery store located next to Humlegården park in central Stockholm back in 2012. Since then, they have become renowned for their simple and straight forward approach to shirt making.
Schnayderman’s prides themselves on a classic approach to shirting details. Mother of pearl buttons, the finest cottons, and natural dyes combine to make garments that are simply made well and look good. Each of Schnayderman’s shirts belongs to one of three lines, Formal, Leisure, or Oxford. Each respective line is base based on the same cut so once you know your size, you can just pick new favorites off the shelf. Working closely with artists and designers, Schnayderman’s focus on fabric is a key part of what makes them so special.
We’re particularly big fans of the fine Italian and Japanese fabrics that Schnayderman’s uses in their shirts. A thick blue oxford makes for a warm weather classic with a button down collar and short sleeves. The light grey hue of the the cotton poplin is a modern take on a classic white shirt that toes the line between formal and casual. And the light and oh so soft patterned Leisure shirt comes in a subtly patterned navy that is the perfect way to expand beyond neutrals, without having to take such a dramatic first step.
